A pintura revisa a revista.

HUMBOLDT REVISTA: AN ATTACK ON GRAPHIC ORDER

Gerson Reichert states with conviction that the painting interventions he does introduce a new view at the current Humbold object-magazine. The painting revises the magazine. It reviews from its language, the language of the magazine, stealing away through the text and the image, overlapping, as a reading that constructs itself transforming what it is ahead of it.

The act is one of acquiring, one of approach, but also one of barbarity. An attack to the structure of the magazine, to its integrity as cultural object – despite having its quality untouched. The painting, in this case, is the unfaithful savage, whose only option is to profane: nobody steals its soul. It can not read using a different language, one that does not belong to the painting and whose language is the action.

In his personal history, artist attacks the force of a deglutition, a proposition a ‘one way only’ that looks for him, in confrontation to revisit his past: decipher it or be devoured by it.

However, the interference of the artist on the magazine results in a mediation form (dialogue, as he prefers). For those with the privilege of browse them, they reveal themselves as a notebook where potentials qualities and ideas are exacerbated, hidden, others simply invented. What permeate page to page beyond the density of the ink, its oil, is the cunning of the artist.

It is worth remembering that the painting needs to invent a place to itself, as a shelter. The painter usually finds it in void, which he turns it into something belonging to him, to the way of the painting. Gerson’s interventions go from an already sown field, conventional to his way in the same way, but it opens and unfolds itself. Therefore, the opening for the exercise, the experimentation of ideas that will or not be used in his screens. The painting on each page appears as an addition to the sense: its crossing destabilizes both sides: it presents itself in a peace of text, of illustration and of the subtitle that remembers us that the sense of order does not exist without the eminence of chaos.
